ZHUJI, China, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Fujian Sturgeons smashes Beijing Ducks 124-91 in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league regular season here on Saturday, seizing its first win of the season after losing 12 games. Beijing created a good start by Jonathan Gibson's three pointer and Li Muhao's slam dunk. By the end of the first quarter, Beijing led Fujian 25-22. Fujian soon caught up in the second quarter through Andrew Nicholson's successive scoring, ending the first half to lead 56-51. Fujian made an 8-0 run with its new guard Trae Golden's jump shot and Wang Zhelin's succussive basket in the paint to lead the third quarter by 92-73. Beijing showed no sign of comeback as Fujian made a 16-4 run to close the game. "We waited a long time for this win. A lot of congratulations to my team for having the patience and determination to turn things around. But it's only one game, we just have to focus on every next game from now on," said Fujian's head coach Nenad Vucinic. For Fujian, Trae Golden collected 27 points, three rebounds and 13 assists. Star center Wang Zhelin got 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Andrew Nicholson took 27 points and six rebounds.
