Nanjing led by one point with 11.5 seconds remaining. Then Fujian center Wang Zhelin made a jumper in clutch time, making Joseph Young's 53 points and 10 assists in vain. Wang had a team-high 34 points and 24 rebounds. Huang Yichao notched 30 points, Chen Linjian contributed 27, and Hu Longmao took 17. Young scored 18 points in the first quarter to help Nanjing grab a 32-30 lead. The Sturgeons took the advantage instead in the following quarter as Wang and Chen combined for 34 points in the first half. Nanjing tied the game 89-all after the third quarter, in which Young put 16 points more on the scoreboard. Hamed Haddadi got 18 points and 19 rebounds for Nanjing, Qiao Wenhan collected 17 points, and Yu Changchun finished with 16 points. "Our team didn't give up in any second, and this is a very big boost of confidence for our team in the next round," said Fujian coach Aleksandar Kesar.
