The 8th Chinese Museums and Relevant Products and Technologies Exposition opened in Fuzhou, East China's Fujian province on Nov 23.

The four-day event attracted more than 300 museums nationwide, including the National Museum of China and the Palace Museum, to take part.

The expo features museums and museum-related cultural enterprises, showcasing their history, progress and exchanges over the past decades.

The lipsticks launched by the Palace Museum gained a swift popularity among expo-goers. According to a staff member at the museum, a total of 150 lipsticks were sold out on the first day.

Since its inception in 2004, the expo has become a key platform for China's museums to exchange ideas and enhance cooperation.

A highlight of this year's expo is the inauguration of a section dedicated to private museums. More than 100 private museums have set up stands to showcase their achievements in cultural relic research, museum operation and development of creative cultural products.

"People are showing increasing enthusiasm for museum tours, which has already become an indispensable part of their cultural life,” noted Liu Yuzhu, head of the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
