Hakka Culture

Hakka culture is a migrants’ culture chiefly created by the Han people. Throughout thousands of years of migrations, the Hakka people have not only inherited the fine aspects of the Chinese Han culture, but also enriched it with the culture of the South China. They are also called “Hill People” for their long-time settlement in the hilly areas.

The unique Hakka culture makes the unique Hakka people. They persevere in adversity, hardworking and adventurous yet respectful of traditions; they are patriots true to their nation; they are thrifty, earnest and united in life, and they are well-known for their appreciation of education.
